CariMar, Caribbean Marine
and P&I Services, has been created from the growth and
evolution of Mariserve Jamaica Ltd. The name was changed to
reflect the principal geographic region in which we operate,
and to identify the principal type of services offered.
The area in which our
services are offered has grown substantially to now cover the
whole Caribbean Region, but the quality and type of services
remains at the highest level, serviced by highly qualified
marine professionals in various Caribbean locations, with
central communications being directed through the headquarters
in Fort Lauderdale, Florida or the Kingston Jamaica office.
Through the establishment
of strategic agreements and contracts with other marine
service companies and surveyors, the company now provides
services throughout the Caribbean, from several strategic
locations, and has also increased the type of services
offered.
The company is listed as
correspondent and surveyors for several P&I clubs, some of
whom are members of The International Group of P&I Clubs,
acting directly on instruction from the clubs on behalf of
either the club or the entered member. Company services as
surveyors and investigators have been engaged in matters such
as oil spills, vessel groundings, cargo disputes, cargo
damages, terminal damage from collision, collisions at sea,
vessel condition surveys, and many others.
Services The company
undertakes and provides services in many types of marine
surveys, investigations, and consultative work, on behalf of
P&I Clubs, vessel owners, operators, charterers,
management companies, H&M underwriters, ship agents,
importers and exporters, financial institutions, and any
entity having an interest in Marine Transportation.
In locations where a
P&I Club do not have a direct correspondent, The Company
provides the same quality and level of service with one of the
network surveyors, with all communication being centralized,
in order to assure the client of rapid response. The USA or
Jamaica office staff are available for 24 hour communication,
and are able to contact the appropriate network surveyor at
any time once instruction has been
received.
Having established the
headquarters in the United States, company services are now
available through direct contact either with the Florida or
Jamaica office. Direct control and coordination of the
regional network surveyors is maintained from Florida, with
Jamaica as an alternate, but the Kingston office concentrates
on the Jamaican activities.
